This 90-minute training will feature Sujenie Badia-Espinal, LCSW, Director of Project ORE, a Manhattan-based organization that specializes in hoarding intervention. She will present a clinical overview of hoarding, including how to understand and effectively work with people who hoard. Weinberg Center Assistant Director and General Counsel Malya Levin will then discuss legal considerations related to hoarding, particularly in older adults.

Description: This webinar is designed for professionals who work with older adults experiencing compulsive hoarding. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of hoarding behaviors, including the psychological, social, and environmental factors that contribute to the disorder. The training will review updated diagnostic criteria, differential diagnosis, and risk factors specific to older adults, while offering practical strategies to help social service teams, caregivers, and administrators support individuals with hoarding disorder and promote safety.
